Company press release

Modec, the UK-based manufacturer of zero-emission light commercial vehicles, has added an additional dealer to its network: Modec West. Based in Colnbrook, Heathrow, the new dealer brings the number of Modec outlets to six, and makes the vehicles more easily accessible to businesses looking to address carbon emissions within the capital. Supported through funding from Cenex, the UK's first Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies, each dealer has been provided with demonstration vehicles, ensuring that businesses interested in making the move to zero carbon transport are able to see at first hand the capabilities of the Modec. They will also be able to test drive one. Modec’s new 24-hour roadside assistance service also helps underpin the dealer offering, providing reliable support day or night. Managed from a central call centre, any London-based enquiries are passed to the nearest dealer to ensure that fast, expert help is provided. Roger Atkins, Dealer Development Director, at Modec, said: “Having a sixth dealer join our London network is an exciting move for Modec. We are now able to service the whole of the capital and have made it easy for businesses looking to move to greener vehicle technologies to be able to experience Modec for themselves. “As with any new technology, people can be nervous about committing to a new product, but with the local proximity of the dealers, and with the 24-hour roadside assistance offering, customers can be confident that they will be supported every step of the way.” Since launching in November, the Modec dealer network has been introducing the product to both private-and public-sector operators, and has begun taking orders from organisations such as Camden Council and London Tower Services, with many other businesses’ orders in the pipeline.
